Thiorus

Jepella is a planet within the Adlivun solar system. It is a planet with several continents the one we are on being Thiorus. This continent follows the god Mystra, the god of Romance. There are many shrines across the region that worship Mystra. Every shrine once had its own Kitsune living there, but most were killed over the years. A year before the attack of Aractanus, the 4 Nyrote stones where spread across the continent. Volianite was the first to be found, but its power caused an entire village to be destroyed leaving nothing but a giant crater.

Cloudmore, the city of humans

A city build from the ground by humans, but over the years the city has gotten a wider variety of species living within its wall as all are welcome in this city. This city has endured many walls and has some of the most powerful warrions in the entirety of Thiorus. This has a democratie similair to the Netherlands

Saltus, the elven city

A city filled with elves, and also the first city that rose to power on Thiorus. It is ruled by the king of Saltus, and when the king dies one of his children will take over his crown.

Overview of world building

The Nyrote Stones

The Nyrote stones are 4 powerful stones that all have different powers. The Nyrote stones were created by Verdantshade 2 years before the first attack of Aractanus.
The red Malapite has power over all organic life, it can bring death to the living and life to the dead. It takes on the form of a Scythe, and is still intact in the year 732.
The yellow Archmulite which is based on the Finality from Honkai Star Rail. This stone marks the ending of one journey, and the beginning of the next. While Archmulite isn't powerful enough to end any and every journey, it is powerful enough to end those journeys that lack devotion to their journey. The original weapon was a sword, yet broke during the fight against Aractanus, now it's just the stone itself.
The blue Volianite has the power of Destruction, it is capable of destroying anything it wants. From just a simple crate to an entire village. This two-sides axe is still intact in the year 732, and is within the walls of the castle of Sultan.
The purple Pennite is capable of bringing Harmony to the world of Thiorus. it used to take the form of a staff, but during the fight against Aractanus in the year 232 the staff broke.

Leaving only the Nyrote stone behind. It current location around the neck of our main character, Soul. Yet for some unknown reason, these stones do not affect Aractanus like they affect the rest of Thiorus.

Aractanus, the great monster

This monster has had a previous attack on Thiorus back in 232, and in this book it will return again. Its goal is to destroy the entirety of Thiorus, by unleashing its power upon it. The only thing capable of harming it are the weapons created by the Nyrote stones. Within the world of Thiorus, not much is known about Aractanus. Yet the Nyrote stones were given by Verdantshade to try and take hold of said power.
symbol: to me Aractanus symbolises a desire I used to have. I have lied a lot back in elementary school, so when I first told someone that I was trans I was scared that I was making that up for attention. Yet as time went on, I realised more and more that that wasnt the case. So while the first attack of Aractanus is meant to represent me supressing these feelings back in elementary school (as when I learned about trans people I always thought to myself "Could I be apart of that group too? no no, I am happy being a boy.") While this second attack is meant to represent the pressure I feel from others who have so much hate towards trans people. As for why Storm would summon it then, well thats because he wants to get rid of all the evidence. As a way to make sure no one ever finds out I am trans. I cant be harmed by transphobic people if no one knows I am trans.

Overview of all the characters

Skye:

backstory:
Skye is girl born in the city of Cloudmore, she has a twin brother called Storm. Her mother, Elysia, died during childbirth causing her father, Edward, to have to take care of the twins by himself. Growing up Skye was raised by her father to take over his role in the militairy of Cloudmore, since according to her father she had more potential with the blade than Storm did. After years of learning the ways of the blade, she became a master at it, and as her father went into retirement she overtook his role within the army. One day, while patrolling through the forest, she found a cave with a Scythe stuck in the ground. She ripped the weapon out of the ground with all her might, and she named her weapon, Grace. Once back in the city, she started training with Grace. The game plays out after a couple of weeks of Skye finding Grace. Since she grew up learning how to fight, she doesnt have many friends causing her to talk to Grace like it talks back to her. Since Skye is 18 at the time of the game, she is old enough to join the army and has been patrolling the forest between Cloudmore and Saltus.

personality:
She is very independent, some might even say she is to independent as she doesn't talk with people unless she absolutely has to. Therefor she doesnt have many friends, and often feels lonely. The friends she does have, are once she cares about a lot, and she would do anything for them. Skye is a very powerful warrior, and by using her trusty scythe she is able to solve all of her problems. She fights with elegance, like a powerful and graceful swan, and sees fighting like a dance. She cares more about others then about her own life, even If she doesnt talk with them.

related to me: This is me, or who I want to be at least (minus the fighting skills). Skye is the side of me actively trying to "break free", what I mean by this is that this is the side of me that wants to tell everyone that I am trans. Skye is based on characters like March 7th... and I cant think of other characters...

Grace:

backstory:
On December 11th 731, Skye found Grace stuck inside of a rock. It was left in that cave by its previous owner 500 years ago, after he and three others won against the great monster. Grace has one of the four Nyrote stones inside of itself. Malapite, the red stone of Vitality. It is said to be powerful enough to control all organic matter, both live and dead.

personality:
its a weapon... it doesnt have one??

related to me: Grace might seem strange as its an inanimate object, but I do actually have 2 objects in my life that I care about just as much as Skye cares about Grace. That being both of my lion plushies. One is Simba, which was supposed to be a gift for the girl I liked back in my first year of high school but kept myself because of circumstances. It has become my favorite object, and has been with me through everything. Heck it turned blue from how much I cried on it. The other plusie is a plushie I got from at the time a friend I used to be really close with, we dont really talk anymore but we are still good friends, she gave me this as a joke yet it has turned into a symbol of how much I care about my friends. These two plushies mean a lot to me, more than Grace means to Skye but Grace is tecnically inspired by these two plusies.

Storm:

backstory:
Similair to Skye, Storms mother died during childbirth and his father was his only caretaker. Yet, while Skye was outside training with their dad, Storm had to stay inside and study. Storm has always been the smartest one in his family, yet he never wanted study. Storm was studying so much that he barely went outside, instead he just stayed in his room. Over the years, he started to become more and more depressed. Him and Skye dont really talk much either,

personality:
witty, selfish, clever, impatie nt, sly. He cares about his family, yet puts himself first. He isnt all that good at talking with people, as he doesnt know how to. Always speaks like he is writing an English essay. He isnt good at fighting, but is extremely good at strategizing.

related to me: Storm is the part of me that is scared to reveal to people that I am trans. it is why he tried to summon Aractanus.

Verdantshade:

backstory:
Verdantshade exists in a realm beyond that of Thiorus. She created Thiorus and Aractanus, Aractanus was created by her solely to release chaos within her little world. She likes the choas in her little pretend world, but not in her own life. Thiorus is a world created by Verdantshade as a way to escape from their own reality.

personality:
Bench Suggests:
Verdantshade is a quiet but kind being. She is very close to her friends, and clearly cares a lot about them. She is generous and bescheiden (sorry but for some reason I don't know the english translation of that word???). Although she can get a tad irritated if things don't quite go her way, especially if she already had a bad day (or the equivalent of a day for some kind of celestial being), but, hey, who doesn't? She is also very loyal, at least with keeping private information private. If you tell her something confidential (like being gay or a furry as a few random examples), you will know for sure that that information stays with her: no gossipping with friends, no blurting things out, absolutement rien.

related to me: it is me, its the creator of Thiorus so of course that would be me.

Soul:

backstory:
He has the idea that humans are pure evil and therefor hates them. Even though he's not that talented in most things, especially when compared to his brothers, he has always been more observant than them. He noticed some time ago that a huge monster is awakening soon. He tried to warn his people that this monster is coming but no one believes him. After this fact, he decides to go out and find more about this monster himself. (if somethings dont make sense, Leahs fault)

personality:
He is an outcast and kind of quiet. He doesn't have any friends and often gets compared to his brothers. He spends most of his time studying books and researching the history of Saltus. He has five brothers and three sisters. He isn't really close with any of them except one: Fern. Soul is the youngest of all of them so most people don't take him seriously. He is quick to think and often uses more logic and smarts. He is very smart but most people don't know that. Even, he doesn't seem to know. His great-grandfather was a well-known military general who achieved a lot for the elves. He's always looked up to his great-grandfather and wanted to achieve what he couldn't, to defeat the 'great threat'. Many people look up to the old monster slayers so no one would doubt that this monster is gone for good. (if there are any spelling mistakes in this part, then its Leahs fault. she wrote this) Later in the story Soul will recieve a sword and become a decent swordfighter.

related to me: Soul is someone who knows the secret is there, which would actually make him a better protagonist because I could then say that Soul is the Player. Although, in my original vision, I had Soul as all my friends, because they help me become the person I am today.

Dawn:

backstory:
After the death of her mother when she was very young, she moved into a little cabin in the forest. This is where she lives now, away from society.

personality:
She is very quiet and doesnt talk much

related to me: In my life there are many people that I dont actually speak with, yet they do impact my life. I am friends with two guys on tiktok that I dont actually know. I have another friend on steam who I never even spoke to. Sure, these people might not impact my life. Yet I am happy they are there. Since we dont speak I draw the comparison with Dawn since Dawn is also very quiet and lives mostly away from society.

Nimue:

backstory:
When Nimue was 8 years old, she lost everything in a fire. Now that Nimue was an orphan she didn't have a place to stay the night. For some nights she dwells within the forest, until she was found by a priestess. She brought Nimue to the temple of Mystra, a temple that praises the goddess of Magic, and Nimue lived at that temple until she was 22. When she left the temple and bought a small cottage in the forest, close to her old village. She still often goes to the temple to pray and help the people who came there. Even when she is not in the temple, she spends her time around the village. The things she does are, but not limited to: helping the healer, helping the people and spending time with friend in the tavern.

personality:
Nimue is an intoverted character, is nice and helps people whenever they can. she is also highly intelligent.

related to me: I honestly don't have a clue about yet. I had come up with something like "how she got Akane to help us, so everyone didn't die during the boss fight," but honestly, that was more because I just wanted something in return. Still, I somehow managed to link her to Fonie and another friend because they gave me the courage to tell Fleur as well.

Akane:

backstory:
Akane was there when the first attack of Aractanus happened, they are the one who found the Nyrote stones and crafted them into weapons for the hero's. These hero's where chosen by Akane according to the strength each hero possesed. Akane didn't fight against Aractanus and therefor doesn't know how one would fight it, but they do know that the monster wasn't killed, it fled. For 500 years they have waited for the return of Aractanus, knowing it would come one day. They kept watch over the Nyrote stones, knowing the exact location of every single one. Yet, even they do not know how the Nyrote stones came into that world.

personality:
This kitsune has a similair personality to Yae Miko. They speak in riddles and is very sly.

related to me: Akane is based on the both of you, you two have helped me the most in this journey, and are actually the reason I am even writing this in the first place. If you two weren't here to support me I would have most likely never even attempted to let this secret out. While Akane their personality might not be based on you two, their impact on the story is.

Benji:

backstory:
Benji grew up in another region (Krasomark). As a child, he was already creating machines and contraptions. However, when he showed these to his parents, they barely reacted at all. This caused him to continuously try to one-up himself, just to try to get anything out of them at all. When he moved to the city, he had a little trouble fitting in, due tohim being an immigrant and also another race, although this quickly sorted itself out when he met a group of friends. These new friends are supportive of his creative endeavors, however he still is perfectionistic and overly critical of himself due to his childhood. Currently, he works as a mechanic which gives him free materials to build with.

personality:
Strengths:
Benji is a very outgoing and extroverted person. He is good at making friends and is always kind and optimistic. He is very intelligent and constantly makes new contraptions.
Flaws:
He is very cowardly and scared all the time. This means that he is easily intimidated. He is also physically weak, although he can work around that with his engineering skills. Furthermore, he is scared of failure, so he always perfects something until failure is almost impossible.
Benji's fighting style depends on what he has access to. If it is a 1v1 brawl, then he can't win, due to him being physically weak and cowardly. If he has access to some of his own weapons, then he can use them effectively. Finally, Benji is a competent battle tactician, where he can organize his fellow troops into favorable situations.

related to me: Benji is actually just Bench. while their personalities might be different I do see Benji as a counterpart of Bench. Bench was the first person that knew that I was trans, and in this story Skye and Benji will already know each other and be friends (yeah... Bench I am deaging Benji. cant really have an 28 year old be friends with an 18 year old, thats kinda strange) yeah go ahead I agree and don't mind

Fern:

backstory:
The brother of Soul, and the only brother who believed Soul when he told everyone about the prophecy. Yet he also knew how their father was very against taking measures about the protential attack, thus Fern kept helping Soul indirectly without their father knowing. Fern is a lot older than Soul and therefor he studies in the old part of the castle, but since then the old library and old study room have been left to collect dust. Fern knowns that the Volianite is still kept within the study room, waiting for the next time it is needed.

Hemlocke:

backstory:
The king of Saltus. he has many feats from his prime, the biggest one being him killing a wyvern with his bare hands despite it being several times larger than him.

personality:
Hemlocke is a man who cares for his family, yet still knows that protecting his kingdom was equally as important as protecting his family. He is a wise leader, one that knows how to encurage its people and bring out the best in them.

related to me: isn't, but just because i think the situation is funny i am going to add a certain story about the mother of one of my friends. On june 22 2025, i went to the movies with 3 friends. while 2 of my friends where gone i spoke with Anniek. where she revealed that when she told her mom that i had a secret, she instantly guessed that i was trans.
